Rhail Alkbir

Is 33 years old and he comes from Fquih Ben Salah, in Morocco. In that place, he worked as an electrician, as it is his profession since 2006, after being officially qualified to practice that job.

He lost his older brother a year ago. He was 40 years old and had three children. He wants to change his living conditions and earn more money to survive. In Morocco, he is paid only 10 euros a day for his job as a qualified electrician. He begins working at eight a.m and ends at five o’clock in the afternoon. He worked as a freelance electrician, fixing the houses of frequent customers who gave him a temporary job.

In November 2020 he coincided on board the dinghy, by chance, with Aziz, as he ended up living with him, along with other hundreds of people, in Las Raíces. Rhail is going to Almería because he has friends there who are working growing tomatoes and cucumbers in greenhouses. As he cannot use his professional qualifications here, he will be content with pitching in the greenhouses, although he could earn more money working as an electrician. Everything for the sake of sending money to the family of his older brother. He is trying to prevent his nieces and nephews from abandoning their lives in Morocco. He just wants to give them economic support so that they can have good living conditions and, in doing so, prevent them from repeating his story on board a dinghy.
